Adult Discipleship Options
Option 1: Led by Paul Baxley
Gospel of John
The focus of our Midweek Bible Study in the winter and spring of 2017 will be the first eleven chapters of The Gospel of John. This Gospel has been a favorite among Christians for centuries, both because of its rich theological content and also the significant narratives from Jesus’ life that it alone offers us (the encounter with Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman at the well and the raising of Lazarus). Come prepared to read the text and reflect on its meaning for our faith today! Paul Baxley will teach this study.
The study will be offered as one option on Wednesday evenings beginning January 11, and will also be offered on Tuesdays at noon beginning on January 10. The study will end as we enter Holy Week.
Option 2: The Bible Tells Me So…
Led by Frank Granger
Often, in Sunday school and other Bible studies, we look at the Bible in verses, stories, and passages. This study takes the approach of looking at the Bible as a whole. The book guiding this study is The Bible Tells Me So: Why Defending Scripture Has Made Us Unable to Read It, by Dr. Peter Enns.
Option 3: #MOMS
Gathering four Wednesdays to focus on health in the New Year, the #MOMS group is open to all mothers, no matter the age. Please join us in F-318/319 on Wednesdays, January 11 & 28 and February 8 & 22.
Members and guests are invited to make a reservation for supper. We offer a choice of hot meal, salad bar with baked potato, and a children’s menu option. The cost of adult meals is $7.00. The cost of children’s meals is $3.50. Supper line opens each week at 5:00 pm.
