First Baptist Church offers ONLINE GIVING OPTIONS  for our members and guests. The online giving link can be found here.

ADDITIONAL GIVING OPTIONS

Making Contributions from your IRA
If you are 70 ½ or older, you are eligible to make a distribution from your IRA to FBC Athens without paying tax on the distribution. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. The distribution counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). The distribution must be made from an IRA (other retirement accounts are not eligible). In order to make a gift, please contact your IRA administrator to request a direct charitable distribution to FBC Athens in the amount you wish.

Making Contributions of Appreciated Securities/Stocks
A gift of long-term appreciated securities has added tax benefits because you do not have to pay the income tax on the capital gain that you would owe if you sold the stock. The value of your contribution is the fair market value of the securities. Please contact Cheri Rose by email or in the office by phone (706-548-3159) for the information you need to transfer securities directly from your account to FBC Athens.
