Just what is the Virginia Appleton Circle?
We are a group of women formed 25 years ago as a part of the Woman’s Missionary Union. While the WMU doesn’t exist any more we are still active! Over the past few years we have changed our focus to primarily one of mission projects such as serving a yearly meal at Our Daily Bread, facilitating the purchase of chairs for the Athens Wellness Clinic, making blankets for guests of that clinic as well as collecting hats and gloves for them this year. We have also made hygiene kits for the homeless and supplied gifts and needed supplies for Camp Hawkins. One of our big projects each year is making Easter goody bags for our neighbors at Denny Towers.
Any woman is welcome to join us at any time. It’s a great opportunity to get to know some women you may not already know. If you would like to be included in our email list please contact Amy Young.
